Miss Phoenix Goes Deliciously Mad
Steven Kramer has made a name for himself in Florida as the vibrant drag queen Miss Phoenix, but problems in his home state — including an abusive boyfriend and a governor who has no love for the gays — have prompted him to pack his life in a box truck and head for the other side of America, seeking a restart to his life. That restart is derailed when Steven finds himself stranded in Chino Valley, Arizona.
Now, Steven must rely on the kindness of strangers as he figures out another way to get to California, believing big city life fits him better than the slow roll of the country. However, a couple of days soon turns into a longer stay as he becomes entangled in small-town troubles he feels he needs to fix, while still trying to find the escape hatch.
Crashing a library story hour as Miss Phoenix puts the library in financial jeopardy and its director’s future in limbo. While trying to fix that mess, Steven tries to help a high school quarterback who’s afraid to admit he’s gay because of his angry, violent father. However, Steven’s biggest fight could rage inside his heart as he falls in love with the pig farmer who saved him from the side of the road. Will that finally be the point where Miss Phoenix goes deliciously mad?
